IMPLEMENTATION PHASE
The Implementation phase is the action phase of the TR process. Implementation involves the actual execution of the individual program plan by the TR specialist and the client. The TR specialist assumes responsibility for coordinating client-focused and goal-directed activities consistent with the proposed plan of action. He or she guides the client until the client can assume self-responsibility. The TR specialist also makes certain that the client’s actions and responses are fully documented throughout the implementation phase.
Therapeutic recreation programs are interventions tailored to the needs, capacities, and degree of readiness of each client. Programs focus on using existing strengths and interest as foundations for treatment/rehabilitation.
The highest form of TR participation is that which the client finds self-rewarding and is not a product of external compulsion.
